PHILIPS LAUNCHES SOPHO BUSINESS CONNECT FOR ALL-IN-ONE COMMUNICATIONS

Philips launches SOPHO Business ConneCT for all-in-one communications

Hilversum, May 10, 2005 - Philips Business Communications (PBC), a division of Philips Royal Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG), has launched a major addition to its portfolio of enterprise communication solutions with the introduction of SOPHO Business ConneCT at the Belgian Telecom City fair (Brussels, 10 – 12 May 2005).

SOPHO Business ConneCT is a modular suite of new and redesigned applications sharing a common architecture, which enables companies of any size to incorporate the applications they require to satisfy the variety of communication needs of different users. This innovative suite takes full advantage of the possibilities of IP and delivers all of the core functionality required by operators, office workers and call centre agents within one tightly integrated communications application. The suite has been so designed that different sizes of companies and types of users will find the features and functionality they are looking for.

SOPHO Business ConneCT provides organisations with all the functionalities they need to facilitate high levels of customer service and interaction, as well as improving internal productivity. The applications included address the most advanced needs, with customisation enabling a further tailoring to company specific circumstance.

Thanks to the intuitive user interface offered users learn easily to handle their communications more effectively, from a basic address book to the complexities of collaboration, virtual white-boarding and work flow management. Features include call control, voicemail, voice activated dialling, directory services, presence management, operator and call routing features. The majority of functionality is web-based and consequently the system is simple to deploy and can be accessed by all types of users at any time and from any location, making it ideal for remote workers. The application has a user-friendly, intuitive user interface, reducing the time and money required for end-user training, without compromising the user-effectiveness and satisfaction.
