NEC PHILIPS UNIFIED SOLUTIONS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE PERSONNEL CHANGES
Hilversum, The Netherlands, August 29, 2008 –
NEC Philips Unified Solutions (NEC Philips) today announced the following executive personnel changes that will become effective as of September 1, 2008.
After having led Philips Business Communications and subsequently NEC Philips for over 5 years, Ad Ketelaars will conclude his assignment with the company as of September 1, 2008.
Ad Ketelaars was brought on board by Philips in early 2003 to guide the communications business towards a stable environment for sustainable future growth. Ketelaars developed the partnership with NEC and implemented the joint venture, NEC Philips Unified Solutions. Since 2006 the company has been further embedded within NEC Corporation as one of the core activities of NEC’s global enterprise communications business. With his assignment completed, it has been mutually agreed that Ketelaars will pursue his interest in another opportunity and hand over responsibilities.
Ad Ketelaars will be succeeded by Kazuo Tsuzuki and Paul Kievit, who will take leadership of the company as of the same date.
Kazuo Tsuzuki will assume the role of Chief Executive of NEC Philips Unified Solutions. This role is in addition to his existing responsibilities at NEC in Tokyo as Associate Senior Vice President and Executive General Manager Enterprise Solutions Operations Unit within NEC Corporation. As CEO of NEC Philips, he will oversee the corporate strategy and lead the task force towards globalization and further integration of the company and its activities into NEC Corporation.
Paul Kievit, currently Chief Commercial Officer, is appointed President of NEC Philips Unified Solutions and will be in charge of the day to day management of the company. Having been part of the company’s Management Team for many years, Kievit’s experience with and insight into the business ensures a smooth transition and continuity.

About Paul Kievit:
Paul Kievit was born in Haarlem in 1960.
In 1983 he joined the Royal Netherlands Army, where in subsequent years he held various operational and staff functions (both national and international) as Army officer.
Since January 1990 Paul Kievit has held a variety of national and international sales, marketing and executive management positions in high technology companies. Prior to joining Philips in 2003, he was Managing Director of Avaya Netherlands and before that General Manager Telecom Solutions at global systems integrator Getronics. In these positions he gained extensive experience in business consultancy, data networking, IP/PBX converged networks, mobile communications and customer contact solutions in a multi-channel business environment.
In April 2006, when Royal Philips and NEC Corporation established their joint venture NEC Philips Unified Solutions, Paul Kievit was appointed Chief Commercial Officer, responsible for all global sales activities of this leading provider of enterprise communications solutions. He defined and implemented a multi-channel strategy, developing the company’s expertise and success as solutions provider as well as accelerating the growth and expansion of its indirect channel sales.
Since September 2008 he is President of NEC Philips Unified Solutions. In this role he oversees and is responsible for the company’s activities worldwide.
