MONITORING, MANAGEMENT AND CONTROL OF ENTERPRISE TELECOMMUNICATION COSTS ENHANCED BY NEW VERSION OF NEC PHILIPS’ MAS 9 EXPENSE CONTROL SUITE

Enterprises Enterprises typically can save 6 to 15% on telecom expenses by just detecting billing errors

Hilversum, The Netherlands  October 11 2007 – With the introduction of an improved version of its MAS 9 Expense Control Suite for iS3000, 2000 IPS and UNIVERGE SV7000 enterprise communication platforms, NEC Philips Unified Solutions (NEC Philips) significantly enhances monitoring, management and control of enterprise telecom costs.

This new release 9.5 interacts closely with NEC Philips’ MA4000 Management and Administration solution and provides a powerful tool for effectively managing IT operations and services in terms of efficiency and cost validation.

The Expense Control Suite is a comprehensive web-based, fully scalable solution, which particularly benefits organisations that span multiple sites and have high traffic volumes. It is these organisations that are also vulnerable to abuse and fraud, and the suite is ideally suited for tracking these conditions, while at the same time assuring the privacy of all parties.

Significant cost savings
Enterprises have typically saved between 6 to 15 % of their telecommunication expenses by detecting billing errors. Besides improving efficiency, performance, and accountability of telecommunications use, the suite helps organisations to verify telecommunications invoices and match these against actual costs.

Organisations are increasingly dynamic in size and structure and as a result change their infrastructures constantly. More than ever management needs to be in a position to assess traffic loads accurately, in order to determine the appropriate and most efficient network capacity.  Communications grow along with organisations, and regular traffic monitoring is required to ensure the right quality of service is maintained.  The Expense Control Suite provides pro-active and policy-based solutions ranging from customer care to billing. Classic call accounting is available for all voice calls including voice over Internet (VoIP) calls. Budgets can be set up for individuals, departments as well as project teams, with automatically generated warnings when these are almost exceeded, and automatically restricted service class if a budget is exceeded.
