At CeBIT 2007 NEC proves its broad expertise as one of the world’s leading solution providers for information- and telecommunications technology – with “That’s why NEC innovates” as slogan. NEC presents its expertise in innovation within the areas of IT, Networking and Display solutions, as well as a special section on Future Solutions.

As part of NEC’s Enterprise Solutions section NEC Philips Unified Solutions is showing an array of communications solutions that will boost the effectiveness of enterprises. Our view on Enterprise Communications is that optimal communications across networks and locations requires a converged infrastructure to support voice, data, web and video collaboration, combined with rich presence information, calendar integration and Secure Instant and Unified Messaging.

Unified Communications

On show are Unified Communications and Collaboration applications that enable organizations and teams to cooperate more productively thanks to real-time communications. These include Secure Instant and Unified Messaging and rich Presence Management information with extensive calendar and voice integration for operator, employees and agents, running on Microsoft LCS in combination with UNIVERGE SV7000 and wireless phones.

UNIVERGE

NEC Philips will be introducing the latest version (release 21) of the high-end communication platform UNIVERGE SV7000. The converged architecture of this scalable and secure platform streamlines operations and maintenance of a company’s network and reduces operating costs, with system survivability being an essential element providing business continuity.

At CeBIT NEC will launch UNIVERGE Assured Mobility, the companies newest generation Wireless LAN communications solution. It comprises all key components such as wireless controllers, access points, network management software and user devices to provide enterprises with converged wireless communications that include integrated applications such as presence management, location services support, intelligent call redirection and directory information on a variety of mobile devices, empowering individual users and making organizations more agile and productive.

The extensive functionality of this Voice over WLAN will be shown using MH250 terminals, the WL5100 controller, the WL1500 access points and the WLMS management software. A demonstration will also be given showing how UNIVERGE Assured Mobility dual mode devices integrate communications across enterprise and public networks.

Also to be launched at CeBIT is a full IP version of the Business ConneCT suite, an all-in-one communication solution that fulfils the needs of call center agents, operators and office employees. Customisation and integration with other desktop applications enhances even more the flexibility of Business ConneCT. With the new full IP version, customers have the freedom of choice between IP and TDM technology to access voice services offered by Business ConneCT such as voicemail, auto-attendant and call center queue announcements. This increases the flexibility of implementations and saves costs. Business ConneCT is now available on all IP communication servers and hybrid platforms offered by NEC Philips Unified Solutions, and demonstrations will be showing its operation on the 2000 IPS communication platform.

Business Partners

In the section focusing on SMB solutions NEC Philips Unified Solutions informs its channel partners on its Business Partner Program, and latest developments of its portfolio, comprising SOPHO IPC 100, IPC 500 and 2000 IPS platforms. Besides the latest software release and new terminals focus will be on (S)IP DECT Wireless Telephony. The introduction of the AP200S SIP DECT Access Point on IPC 100 and IPC 500 communication systems enables small and medium sized organisations to exploit the benefits of IP based DECT Wireless Telephony. Making the DECT solution SIP-enabled, opens up possibilities to offer this wireless telephony solution on third party platforms as well.
